Jerry and Jana Rush started Rush Sales Company in Lubbock, Texas in 1987 with five employees. Later that year they moved the company to Odessa, Texas, leased a small six thousand square foot shop, and began manufacturing a couple of Hot Oil units a year and doing repairs on oilfield equipment.
Rush Sales has seen tremendous growth since those early days and the company now has over eighty employees and nearly fifty thousand square feet of manufacturing facility. They manufacture nine different lines of equipment for the Petroleum and Pipeline Construction Industry to include: Hot Oil Units, Frac Water Heaters, Steam Units, Water Heater Inversion Units, Acid Pumping Units, High Pressure Pumping Units, Vacuum Trucks, Transport Trucks and Winch Trucks.
With the growth that Rush Sales has experienced over the years, expansion has been ongoing. In 1989 Rush Sales Company purchased that small six thousand square foot shop, as well as the adjacent building, this increased the facility to twelve thousand square feet. An environmentally compliant paint booth was installed that year, and the expansions haven’t stopped yet. In 1999 a new parts department and warehouse was added to the facility, along with four more manufacturing bays. In 2000, a new paint facility was built and a second paint booth was installed. That same year another parts warehouse was added. In 2004 more manufacturing bays and a third paint booth was installed. In 2005, new office space and an in-house AutoCAD design department were added. Currently, Rush Sales is converting a warehouse into more manufacturing space, this expansion will add four fabrication bays to the facility and will enable production capacity to exceed two hundred units per year.
The company has established its growth based on high quality custom designed equipment for the ever-changing needs of their customers and the industry. Designing and manufacturing equipment to exact specifications, using the highest quality and most affordable components in the industry, and delivering the product on schedule has made Rush Sales Company an obvious choice for many domestic oilfield service companies such as Nabors Well Service, Basic Energy Services, Key Energy Services and NOV HydraRig – USA.
Our international sales market has expanded over the years as well and includes companies such as Pemex Exploration of Mexico, ONGC of India, Oil India Ltd., NOV HydraRig – Belarus and Stewart & Stevenson LLC.
In May 2005, Jerry and Jana Rush purchased Overland Tank and Trailer Mfg. and renamed the company Overland Tank Inc. Overland Tank was established in 1971 and the facility is located in Abilene, Texas. The forty five thousand square foot manufacturing facility is positioned on fifty acres with fifteen manufacturing bays, two paint booths, a large parts warehouse, four thousand square foot office space and an onsite sandblasting facility. Overland Tank employs fifty people and for nearly 40 years has manufactured a full line of tank trailers for the oil and gas industry to include:
DOT Acid Transport Trailers, ASME Code / Non-code Vacuum Trailers, specialized Transport Trailers, DOT MC331 LPG Cargo Vessels and related Drop Deck / Flat Bed Trailers.
Since the time of purchase, many updates to the manufacturing process at Overland has been completed, such as, a new paint facility, updated sandblasting facility, many new welding stations and two new submerged arc welding machines.
This acquisition has enabled Rush Sales to shift the production of major components to the Abilene facility and further control the flow of components and trailers needed to complement our production line.
Rush Sales Company, in order to expand its customer base, decided to increase its product lines by partnering with other manufacturers as well. This decision enabled Rush Sales to offer products to the construction side of the Oil and Gas Industry.
In 2010 Rush Sales entered into an agreement with MAC Trailer Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of aluminum trailer products, to represent their aluminum trailer line. This included pneumatic frac sand trailers, aluminum end dump trailers and a full line of aluminum flat bed trailers.
In order to better service this market, Rush Sales also entered into an agreement with Construction Trailer Specialist and Trail EZE trailer to represent their steel trailer lines. This included bottom dump trailers and a full line of heavy haul trailers.
Rush Sales Company strives to offer high quality equipment at competitive prices to the Oil and Gas Industry and continually seeks to expand their product lines by carefully monitoring the market and addressing the needs of our customers.
